THERAPY

Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery.  I promote behavioral & cognitive transformation by encouraging a positive outlook and the adoption of new attitudes and reactions. I have the tools and professional experience to help you get back on track. I also offer other holistic modalities to help with the healing process. I believe that our bodies hold memories. Therefore, combining traditional talk therapy with somatic experiencing therapy is useful in treating trauma. Talk therapy works more with the higher brain (cognitive rational mind), while somatic experiencing (SE) therapy focuses on the lower brain (animal survival instinct) responses, the autonomic nervous system, and the “felt” sense. CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy, is one of the most commonly used and evidence-based forms of behavioral therapy. As the name suggests, it is focused on changing one’s thoughts and behaviors. Essentially, by working to change your thoughts about a situation, you can influence different outcomes and behaviors. I would work with you to challenge the unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior, and help you to create new, more helpful patterns of thinking and behaving.
